THE residents of Clonrooske View have been praised by Portlaoise Town Council for maintaining their estate, with the council promising to look at the possibility of installing extra car parking spaces.

“That’s a small estate of 30 houses and the residents have made huge strides,” said Cllr Alan Hand. “A couple of additional spaces for residents would be good for them.”

Cllr Hand suggested that if funds are low, Laois County Council can provide the stone or tarmac and the work can be carried out with the assistance of a FAS scheme.

Cllr Kathleen O’Brien also praised the residents.
