A Monasterevin woman who jumped onto an off-duty garda’s car was last week ordered to pay compensation for damages.
Marina McDonnell, 31 Abbeygate, Monasterevin, was charged with criminal damage, at Drogheda Street, Monasterevin, on August 2 last year.
Inspector Aidan Farrelly gave evidence that an off-duty garda sergeant encountered a number of youths on the night and asked them to move along. McDonnell took exception and jumped on the sgt’s car, causing €472.60 damage.
Defence, Mr Declan Breen said his client was a 22-year-old unemployed woman.
Judge John Coughlan adjourned to September 11 for full compensation.
