Rosenallis cemetery demand

Three years after building work finished, rubble and topsoil are still lying over two graves in Rosenallis, according to Cllr Seamus McDonald.

A year since he last called for Laois County Council to clear the pile, Cllr McDonald again asked for action at the September district meeting.

“This is an embarrassment. It is scandalous. This is stuff from people who cleaned up graves, and the council left stuff there too. I want this properly done, within a month,” Cllr McDonald demanded.

Cllr David Goodwin agreed.“Just send a truck. The landowner will let you in alongside to remove it over the wall,” he said.

The council’s environment department is to investigate who should do the clean up.
