A man who allegedly perforated his ex-partner’s eardrum by hitting her a number of times to the head with an open hand was last week charged with assault causing harm.

Before the district court was Piotr Duda (37), 19 Castle Drive, Kilminchy, charged with the offence at The Glen, Kilnacourt, Portarlington, on October 30 last year.

The case was adjourned to May 1, for a guilty plea to be entered or for a hearing date to be fixed.
