Laois County Council will not put up signs directing motorists lost in villages back to the motorway, if it means putting them on a country road.
Cllr Tom Mulhall pondered the problem, having asked for a sign in Vicarstown to the M7.
“If you do get lost, what do you do, stay lost? Ask in the sweetshop?”, he said
“We direct them back to Stradbally. The reduced number of accidents is due to the new road network, what if visitors met a tractor on a country road,” said Ms Barrett.
