Maria Walsh the Rose of Tralee from Philadelphia will visit Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise during her trip to the town this Wednesday January 14.

Maria Walsh the Rose of Tralee from Philadelphia will visit Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise during her trip to the town this Wednesday January 14.

Principal Orlagh Mahon is thrilled at the surprise visit.

“We are decorating the hall and the children are busy making her a gift, we are inviting parents and the board of management, it will be the highlight of the year,” she said.

On December 18 Santa got a garda escort to the school, while Emo NS came to sing Christmas carols, with gifts for all, to great excitement.
