A second set of portable speed detection signs are being bought by Laois county Council, costing €6,000.
The roving signs work well because “people don’t get used to them,” according to engineer Brenda Cuddy.
Among the locations they will appear is the busy Durrow Cullohill Cork road, as requested by Cllr John King.
