An extra street light is needed at Church Avenue housing estate in Stradbally according to Cllr Paschal McEvoy.
“There has been a number of robberies and that particular area is very dark,” he said.
Farhan Nasiem, Road Design, said the council would investigate the site.
In a written reply to the Graiguecullen/Portarlington Municipal District meeting, he said if a light was required in the area it would be subject to funding being available or it could be considered for the councillors discretionary funding for next year.
“Can you bring forward some of next year’s funding to this year or give me an overdraft,” Cllr McEvoy asked.
“There are older residents in that estate and they don’t ask for much,” he added.
