Beer keg theft in Portlaoise

The theft was outside a pub on Portlaoise Main Street last Thursday, April 26. Three men are alleged to have stolen a number of beer kegs from outside the premises at around 11.15am. The men were subsequently arrested as they made their way toward Dublin.

They have been charged and will be appearing before a future sitting of the District Court.

On Saturday, April 28, a house in Lake Edge in the Kilminchy estate of Portlaoise was broken into around 9pm. A quantity of cash was taken, along with mobile phones, jewellery and a computer. The house was empty at the time.

Also on April 28, a house in the Curraclone area of Stradbally was broken into. The owner of the home returned home in the evening to find the rear window of the house had been smashed and his television set stolen. Meanwhile on Monday, April 30, there was a break-in on Factory Street in Mountrath. The empty house was broken into at around 9.30pm and a quantity of cash and jewellery was taken. Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen anything in relation to any of these incidents to contact them on 05786 21666.
