An Abbeyleix councillor has no doubt but the public protest will be worthwhile, but wants the Minister for Health to force the issue.
“I have no doubt it will succeed,” said Cllr John Joe Fennelly. “We are meeting on this twice a week since November. We are telling the Minister for Health, James Reilly that we will help him out. Whatever funding that he wants us to raise to improve the facilites to get in more facilities we will help him. We will do that as a committee,” he said.
“I am dissappointed that he hasn’t bitten on that yet but maybe he isn’t getting the proper information fed to him from the HSE who we have been trying to deal with. We need the Minister to grab the HSE and say to them what is going on. here. We had thousands on the streets,” he said.
