A PORTLAOISE man who missed his court date because he had no car was given a final chance by Judge Catherine Staines, with the judge remarking next time he could be attending in court appointed transport from Mountjoy Prison.
Michael O’Reilly failed to attend Nenagh Court on July 20 to face motoring charges. He told Judge Staines that the reason he had missed court was because he had no transport on the day.
“Will you have transport next week?” asked the judge. “Because I can arrange transport for you from Mountjoy.”
The matter was put back to September 20 and O’Reilly was released on his own bail of €100, with €50 lodged.
