A REVIEW of safety measures is needed for pedestrians at County Hall and Supermacs in Portlaoise.

In a reply to Cllr Kathleen O’Brien at Portlaoise Town Council, PJ Dempsey, senior executive engineer with the Roads Department said there are conflicting movements at this location, both vehicles and pedestrians. While he said safety has to be balanced by limiting congestion and maintaining the efficiency of the junction, he promised to review the situation.
