The law needed to disband VECs replacing them with new bodies has been delayed.
Laois VEC members were told this month that due to delays in drafting additional sections, the Education and Training Board (ETB) Bill 2012 would not proceed to the Dail’s committee stage until Wednesday, December 19.
The bill has passed its first and second stages and was due to begin committee stage last Wednesday, November 21.
Implementation day for ETB’s is January 1, 2013.
