Flanagan challenges Fleming on buses

CHARLIE Flanagan TD has hit out at Sean Fleming’s remarks criticising new school transport regulations, as Deputy Flanagan claims the new regulations were decided upon by Deputy Fleming’s own party.

In last week’s Leinster Express, we reported that Dep Fleming had slammed Minister Cannon’s proposals, which will end any entitlement to school transport for people in areas where families have traditionally gone to their local secondary schools.

However, the Leinster Express has since been contacted by Dep Flanagan, who wished to point out that the new school transport regulations were agreed upon by Dep Fleming’s own party of Fianna Fail.

“Sean Fleming’s comments require clarification,” said Dep Flanagan. “He is most critical of what he describes as the ‘new school transport regulations’. For the record, the regulations to which Deputy Fleming refers were formulated and announced in December 2010 by Sean and his own colleagues before the much discredited FF/Green government left office.”
