A public meeting will be held in the Marion Centre next Tuesday, February 12 at 8pm with the aim of starting up a Scout group. Rathdowney Macra would like to thank all who came to the Father Ted night at Christmas. January was a very busy month, with making the semi-final in Capers but unfortunately not getting through to the final. Kerry Gold Question time is in Durrow this Friday February 8, at 8pm. playground group
Rathdowney Playground Group wish to thank everyone who attend, supported and helped out at the fundraiser Table Quiz in O’Malley’s Bar. It was a successful night, with over €600 raised.
Fit4life
Fit4Life are holding a 5km walk/run on Sunday, April 14 at 2pm from the Marion Centre. The group meet every Monday, from 7pm-8pm at the square. There are groups for walkers, walker/joggers, joggers all level of fitness welcome. Over 18’s only, high visibility vest must be worn. A Chess group meets every Wednesday at 8pm in Rathdowney Golf Club, over 18’s. Come along if you would like a game of Chess. Lessons available if anyone needs a refresher contact 087 2388064 for more details.

The St Vincent de Paul shop opened last Friday a11am, with a great selection of ladies, gents and children’s clothes available. We look forward to the continued support of the community.
OSSORY CYCLING CLUB
New membership is €20 which includes membership to Cycling Ireland. Existing membership is €30. Those wishing to take out a racing licence can ask club treasurer John Tynan. The Cycling tour takes place on Sunday April 21, with a 100K and a 50K challenge. Further details soon.
BINGO
A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Support is greatly appreciated. Run by the Community Centre Group.
PARENT & TODDLER GROUP
The group meet every Friday morning in the Marion Centre from 10-12. All welcome, parents and minders with children from newborn to pre-school.
MEN’S SHED
Rathdowney Men’s Shed is now up and open very Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the old convent school. Men’s shed offers an opportunity for all men to come together to share their skills and talents, learn new ones or simply meet for a chat and a cuppa. All welcome.
gaa DINNER DANCE
Rathdowney/Errill GAA dinner dance takes place this Saturday, February 9 in the Templemore Arms. Music by Epic, tickets €35, available from Pat Whelan and Pat Kelly, great night assured.
THE GATHERING 2013
Rathdowney Playground Group will host ‘The way we played’ in the Playground and MUGA on Saturday, July 20. This will be an outdoor street styled picnic with music, fun and games for all the family, free of charge. A great chance to catch up and reminisce on how we played. KNITTING CLUB
The club meet every Monday from 2pm to 4.30pm in the communal centre on Cuan Bhride. They do wonderful work and are like one big family, but always happy to welcome new members
county board draw
The annual sale for the county Board draw is now underway. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member. Four monthly draws with top prize each month being €10,000. Your support is greatly appreciated.
RATHDOWNEY/ERRILL GAA
The juvenile club would like to wish St Fergal’s Junior and Senior hurling teams best wishes in their upcoming Leinster Semi-finals against Johnstown. Also their U-14 team which will feature in competition shortly. The club has many representatives on each of these teams so support would be much appreciated.
