People came from all parts of Laois and even Offaly and Kildare to Ballyroan last Tuesday, both in support, and to get tips on objecting to turbine plans in their area.
Adele Kierans from Rhode said she found out by accident that a turbine was being erected near her home.
“I didn’t get any letter, our concern is also the gateway effect,” she said, saying four companies are now planning clusters of farms around the village.
A resident of Fossey Mountain said he came in support of Ballyroan and Spink communities.
“ We have a meeting on September 10 in The Swan, I hope you can come, we are all in this together, only by supporting each other can we get through this,” he said.
