A probation report has been ordered on a Limerick woman who was caught trying to bring a mobile phone into the Midlands Prison.

Debbie Corbett, Apt 3, Main Street, Caherconlish, Limerick, committed the offence on December 28, 2013.

She had no previous convictions.

Defence, Ms Josephine Fitzpatrick said that her client, a 20-year-old woman who is the youngest children in a family of eight, had a boyfriend at the time who was serving a prison sentence.

She was “very foolish” on the day, but is of previous good behaviour. Defence said Corbett is no longer in the relationship.

The matter was adjourned to March 13, for a probation report.
