Urgent appeal for Slieve Bloom articles

The Slieve Bloom Association is currentyl appealing to the public in preparing a special booklet to coincide with its 40th anniverary celebrations

“Our Honorary President Derek Fanning has very generously offered to edit all material submitted for inclusion in ths booklet which will incorporate material from our 30 years celebration,” Chairmain John Rigney said.

“We are looking for any material, written pieces or photographs, connected with the association and the Slieve Blooms dating back to the Association’s First AGM on April 5, 1975.”

Mr Rigney continued: “Time is limited so Mr Fanning’s urgent request is to start writing now, whether typed, hand written or by e-mail. All submissions will be edited and sent to the printers by him.”

Mr Rigney appealed to anyone sending in pictures to attach a note stating where and when the picture was taken and the identity of any people that may be in the picture, as far as possible.

The latest date for sumbission to reach Derek is January 22, as the deadline for the material to reach the printers is January 20.
