Martin Keogh, 166 St Brigid’s Place, has been charged with robbery, at Moss Lane, Portlaoise, on March 2 this year.
Garda JP O’Brien gave evidence at last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court that when cautioned, Keogh replied: “I’m sorry, it was an accident; I didn’t mean to.”
Garda O’Brien informed the court there were no DPP directions in the case.
The garda told Judge Catherine Staines that the State objected to bail, and Keogh was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on March 19, for DPP directions.
Legal aid was assigned to solicitor, Mr Declan Breen.
