Coláiste Iosagáin students got some top tips on reaching their goals recently, when Chris Cook, a member of the Great Britain swimming team, paid a visit to the Portarlington school.

Best known for his achievements in the breaststroke, Chris took gold in the 50 and 100 metre finals representing England at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

He represented Great Britain at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and was the first British swimmer to beat 60 seconds for the 100m breaststroke event.

After a motivational video, he spoke to the students about goal setting and achieving dreams, a talk that enjoyed not just by students interested in sporting success, but by all.

As a Sky Sports Ambassador, Chris visits schools across Britain and Ireland.
