Castletown man remanded to Cloverhill

A YOUNG Castletown man is due before Cloverhill District Court next week (Wednesday, April 4) on burglary and theft charges arising from recent incidents in Mountrath and Castletown.

A YOUNG Castletown man is due before Cloverhill District Court next week (Wednesday, April 4) on burglary and theft charges arising from recent incidents in Mountrath and Castletown.

Tullamore District Court heard this week that Peter Fleming is charged with theft of five bottles of wine at the Emo Service Station, Mountrath on March 5, and with theft at Phelan’s shop, Castletown on March 22 or 23 this year.

The 21-year-old is also been charged with burglary at Phelan’s shop on June 29 or 30 last, and burglary at the Post Office in Castletown on March 15 or 16 this year.

It is also alleged he was in possession of a fireside poker at Castletown on March 23 and that he breached a barring order at the home of his parents in Castletown on March 24.

No bail application was made last week by solicitor Declan Breen when he appeared in Tullamore District Court. Judge John Coughlan remanded him in custody to Cloverhill to appear in Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday, April 4.
