A DUBLIN man who relieved himself in the street outside a bookmaker’s was fined €50 at last week’s district court.

Noel Roche, 93 Rutland Avenue, Crumlim, Dublin, committed the offence on Main Street, Portarlington, on June 12 last year.

Inspector Aidan Farrelly told the court that Roche walked out of the bookmaker’s shop at 1.30pm and urinated in the street.

“He has previous convictions,” said Insp Farrelly.

Defending himself, Roche told the court that he was on medication at the time, medication which he had to take every night.

He said that on the day, three businesses had refused him use of their toilets.

Judge Catherine Staines ruled as outlined.
