The Portlaoise Lions Club Christmas Tree Sale reaches an historic milestone when it starts this weekend at Centrepoint on the Mountrath Road.

The Portlaoise Lions Club Christmas Tree Sale reaches an historic milestone when it starts this weekend at Centrepoint on the Mountrath Road.

Now in it’s 20th year, the Lions Club have raised around €120,000 in total.

“We sell between 350 and 400 trees in a year. A lot of those are repeat sales We believe we have raised around €120,000 since 1994,” Lions Club Member, David Clegg said.

All proceeds go towards Laois Hospice and the Lions Club. The site will be open Monday to Saturday from 10-5 and Sundays from 2-5.

Mr Clegg thanked the public for their generosity and the Shaw family for the use of the site.
