“YOU have a drink problem,” Judge Catherine Staines told a Portarlington man, who was charged with public order offences after he fell into the road drunk and abused the gardaí when they tried to assist him.
Darren Horgan, 72 Riverside, Portarlington, was charged with being intoxicated and using threatening behaviour in public, at Millbrook Manor, Canal Road, Port, on July 1.
He has 13 previous convictions.
Horgan informed Judge Staines that he had taken drink on the day following a death in the family.
Warning him to stay away from alcohol, the judge fined him €300.
