A PORTLAOISE man has been fined for breaking the window of his brother’s partner’s house, in a case of criminal damage which defence claimed was retaliation for damage that has been caused to his house.

Thomas McCormack, 87 Marian Avenue, committed the offence at 55 Broughlone Way, Bellingham, Portlaoise, on August 5 last year.

His solicitor, Mr Philip Meagher explained that an argument took place between the brothers and the partner of McCormack’s brother “caused some damage” to McCormack’s house. Foolishly, in retaliation McCormack then went to her house and caused “mirror image” damage.

He was fined €200.
