Laois County Council has been asked to restore speed limits at Shanboe, near Borris in Ossory.
A notice of motion was put forward by Cllr Brendan Phelan at the recent meeting of Borris in Ossory electoral area. “The signs were taken down for work on the motorway and there is major problems with lorries”, he said.
PJ Dempsey SEE Road Design responded: “It is in place to undertake a review of speed limits next year. This would be the appropriate time to review speed limits for Shanboe”. Acting senior executive engineer Brenda Cuddy added that if the speed limit still exists in the area, signs will be put up”.
