Laois Carers Association no longer have an administration office in Portlaoise, having closed the Mountmellick office earlier this month.
Operations manager, David Lowbridge explained that the administration service had moved to Tullamore to “consolidate services.”
MR Lowbridge explained that there would be no changes to the respite or support services available to carers in Portlaoise.
“With the current climtate with fel it would be better to consolidate the services in our head office in Tullamore. We were previously in a shared office with the HSE. But all our respite and support services will remain the same, there will be no change there.”
The Laois Office of the Carers Association had moved from the Portlaoise Office to offices in Mountmellick, before closing on April 11.
The Operations Manager said the staff were currently in the process of contacting people about the next support group meeting in Laois.
