iPods stolen at last year’s Electric Picnic were forfeited to the State at last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court.

The judgement was made by Judge Catherine Staines during an application made by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) against Ms Emma McCarthy.

Inspector Aidan Farrelly gave evidence that three iPods, stolen at last week’s music festival, had been recovered. The inspector asked that the items be forfeited to the State.

Judge Staines suggested that perhaps they could be given to the Block Project.

Insp Farrelly replied that the items could be password-locked, and they were instead forfeited to the State.
