Scoil Bhride NS Clonaslee are preparing for their first auction next Sunday February 1, to raise money to upgrade a sensory room.
“It is used by students who have autism, Aspergers or epilepsy. At the moment it just has some mats, and the skylight is covered with a plastic bag to keep the room darkened,” said teacher Michael Bermingham, one of the organisers.
He hopes they raise enough money to install padded flooring and walls, soft lighting and a bubble machine, recommended for children with ASD.
Donations of unwanted gifts, toys and homeware can be dropped to the school. The auction is at 2pm, refreshments available, all welcome.
