There are no plans to change the income threshold for social housing, councillors heard at this month’s council meeting.
Cllr Catherine Fitzgerald asked Laois County Council to request Minister for Housing and Planning Jan O’ Sullivan to change the income threshold for social housing.
“Every councillor had had representations from different people on very low incomes. They are in no man’s land, there is no incentive there. They can’t get housing loans. It needs to increase so everyone can be eligible”, she told councillors at the meeting.
