Cllr James Daly wants the Luggacurren Water Supply upgraded as a priority for the council.
The Timahoe councillor asked if there was any money for upgrading the water supply to Luggacurren Village, at a recent council meeting.
“At least once, if not twice weekly they are without water. There are pipes bursting on a regular occasion. It then takes six to eight hours for the water to clear.”
“I know there is old lead piping and they are not able for the water pressure.” he said.
Cllr Daly asked if anything could be done to bring this forward.
Kieran Kehoe, director of services explained that the main in Luggacurren were old and needed replacing.
“Any extra money we get we will look at Luggacurren. We intend to spend this money as quickly as possible and go back and look for more,” he said.
