A Portarlington man last week paid three-quarters of a total €400 compensation for kicking the wing mirrors off two parked cars.
Kamil Cruk, 9 Ballymorris Manor, Portarlington, was convicted back in May of two counts of criminal damage, at Foxcourt Street, Port, on January 6 this year. He kicked the mirrors off two cars, causing €449 damage to one vehicle and €347 to the other. At the May court he paid €95, and Judge Catherine Staines ordered him to pay a further €400.
At last week’s court, defence, Mr Declan Breen said Cruk had €300 and was requesting time to pay the final €100.
Judge Staines noted that the probation report on Cruk said he was doing well, and she put the matter back to February 5 for the remainder of compensation and an up to date report.
Cruk was also convicted in May of public order offences at Kilnacourt Wood, Port, on December 6, 2013.
