Cistercian College Roscrea will host their much loved Christmas Carol Service this Sunday at 4pm, open to all.

Mount Saint Joseph Abbey and Cistercian College Roscrea will open the doors of the Abbey Church to all for the highly anticipated service.

Presided over by Dom Richard Purcell and directed by William Cullagh, Director of Music at Cistercian College, guests and visitors will experience an afternoon of Christmas readings, carols and hymns including Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful and Oh Holy Night.

Brendan Feehan is President of the college.

“The Annual Christmas Carol Service is a highlight on the College calendar and both students and staff have been busy practising for a number of weeks in the lead up to the event.” he said.

“As many past students, parents and visitors will testify, the occasion promises to be a treat to the senses set in the peaceful and tranquil setting of the Abbey and we welcome all to join us in an evening of song to celebrate and reflect on this special time of year”, Mr Feehan concluded.

Cistercian College Roscrea has been in existence for more than 100 years, as a seven day secondary boarding school for boys, just outside Roscrea town, with a proud tradition of excellence in academia, sport and music.
