Mr Mitchell was joined by his wife, and local Cllrs including Marty Phelan, John Moran and Kathleen O’Brien. Ireland East MEP, Mairead McGuinness was also present.

Mr Mitchell concluded his visit via a step onto the Town Link bus, where he met local commuters. He thanked the local volunteers. “We have a good organisation here in Laois-Offaly and I want to thank everyone for their support.”
