DROMORE Beekeepers will next week welcome Simon Rees (pictured left), webmaster for County Dublin Beekeepers’ Association, to explain how bees fly when it can be proved by aerodynamic engineers that it is impossible for them to do so.

A spokesperson for the Dromore Beekeepers’ Association said it was fortunate in being able to draw on a number of speakers from all over Britain and Ireland to speak at its monthly meetings.

“Each speaker has researched their subject in depth and, as a result, it is a most profitable experience,” he said. “Most meetings have a practical beekeeping topic; this one is more academic but, nevertheless, most fascinating.”

Simon has spoken at Dromore BKA meetings twice in the past.

Next week’s meeting will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 18, in The Science Centre at Dromore High School.

Application forms are now available for the next Preliminary Beekeeping Course in Dromore, commencing 9 January 2012. To obtain a copy e-mail Norman Walsh at norman@walsh43.plus.com
