All at the club were deeply saddened this Christmas at the untimely death of one of our great Gaa supporters and patrons, Tim Heffernan. Tim had been unwell for some time but bore his illness with his customary good wit and practical nature. Having played for the club in the ‘60’s and served on committees in recent years, his sons Aidan, John and Barry are current club stalwarts.

Tim always followed the fortunes of our club teams and his ability to see the funny side of any situation endeared him to all who knew him.

Another great Ballyfin character has departed and the Parish will be poorer for his passing.

The huge turnout at his funeral and large crowds who came to the house were testimony to the respect and high regard with which Tim was held throughout the Parish and the wider community.

Our heartfelt sympathies at this time go to Anne, Aidan, John, Barry, Clare, Sinead, Nuala and Lisa.
