Portlaoise’s Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland Parishes have annnounced

RC: Tuesday (Christmas Eve): Children’s Masses at 4.30pm and 6.30pm. Both of these Masses are mainly for the little people who have to get home to bed and be asleep early on Christmas Eve. The 4.30pm mass is aimed at children who have not yet received First Holy Communion. The 6.30pm at children from 3rd class upwards.

Other Christmas Eve masses: 7pm Mass in Scoil Bhríde, Knockmay; 9pm Solemn Mass for Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day: Parish Church 8.30am, 10am, 11.15am and 12.30pm; The Heath 9.30am; Ratheniska 10am.

Confessions: Penitential Services The Heath , Thursday, December 19 7pm; Parish Church, Friday, December 20 7.30pm

Confessions: Parish Church Saturday, December 21 after 10am Mass to 12 noon; Monday, December 23 after 10am Mass to 12 noon and 7-8pm; Tuesday, December 24 after 10 am Mass to 1pm.

CoI: Wednesday 18 December: 10.30 Maryborough School Christmas Service; 7 pm Ballyfin Carol Service at St Fintan’s (RC).

Sunday 22 December: 9.30am The Rock Carol Service; 10.45am Portlaoise Holy Commnion; 12noon Ballyfin Morning Prayer and Carols; 7pm Portlaoise Christmas Lessons and Carols

Christmas Eve: 4pm Portlaoise Crib Service (come dressed as a nativity character); 11.30pm Portlaoise Midnight Mass

Christmas Day: 9.30am The Rock Holy Communion; 10.45am Portlaoise Family Communion; 12 noon Ballyfin Holy Communion.
