Portlaoise and Raheen communities are rallying around the family of baby Emily Brennan, who is undergoing treatment for a serious illness.
Emily aged 13 months, is receiving chemotherapy several times a week in Crumlin.
Many events have been organised to support her family, including one by Emily’s aunt and uncle who went under the razor last weekend.

“I don’t mind shaving my head, seeing Emily so sick. She is doing well at the moment,” said Sandra.
Last Sunday a 7k sponsored walk took off from Eamonn a’ Cnoic’s, Raheen.
On Sunday August 24, Raheen Vintage Club are holding their 6th annual field day in aid of the fund for Emily. Fun for young and old is promised, with vehicles, stalls, food and underage GAA matches.
A Race night takes place in Eamonn an Cnoic’s on Oct 18.
Chairperson of ‘Friends of Emily Brennan is Catherine Keane. “We are a group of neighbours and friends trying to support a famly. At the end when chemo is finished, any money left over will be donated to Crumlin and Portlaoise hospitals,” she said.
