A man who broke several items following an argument with his ex-wife has been ordered to pay compensation.

Kanku Tshiluba, Millbrook, Portlaoise, was charged with criminal damage at his ex-wife’s home in Millbrook on December 7 last year.

Inspector Aidan Farrelly gave evidence that following a verbal argument with his ex-wife, Tshiluba broke a DVD player, a TV stand, a glass table and a lamp. Total damage was €475.

Defence, Ms Josephine Fitzpatrick said her client clearly had issues around anger.

The matter was put back to March 20 for Tshiluba to pay €500 compensation. A probation report was also requested by Judge Staines.
