No cash to survey dangerous trees

There is not enough money available to do an audit of potentially dangerous trees in Laois, says Laois County Council.

With hundreds of trees having fallen during the storm, a full survey of trees that overhang public places, roads and powerlines, and may pose a danger, can not be done.

“We wouldn’t have the resources for a full tree survey, but we are liaising with the ESB, informing them of any trees growing across powerlines. As we come across them we will check them,” said Director of Services Kieran Kehoe.
