She then made her way over to Zen Beauty Clinic, where Clementine Hickey gave Fiona a special Sex and the City look.
Looking better than her on-screen heroes, Fiona was presented with a €250 voucher from Erresse, Main St, Portlaoise. She had a quick browse through the fantastic fashions available at Erresse before meeting her with her friends in Grellan Delaney's.
When the local primary school teacher found out she had won the competition, she could not contain her excitement.
"I'm so delighted I won, I absolutely love Sex and the City," she said, “I’m so excited.”
She was the most popular girl in Camross over the weekend as she decided which three friends she was going to share the Sex and the City experience with.
As the four ladies took their reserved seats in Storm Cinema last Wednesday, they were like giddy teenagers.
“It has been the best afternoon ever,” said Fiona. Her three friends agreed.
Fiona continued: “I feel like one of the girls from the film being pampered all day and then having cocktails with dinner.”
“I can’t wait to see the film now.”
After the film, Fiona felt that it had tied up all the loose ends left from the TV series.
“I really enjoyed the film. Without giving too much about the film away, I enjoyed the romantic side of it.”
“Some people were saying it was too long, but I didn’t think it was. I loved every second of it.”
Fiona was a little bit disappointed by the men in the film.
She said: “I thought all the girls look great. The fashion in the film was amazing, so many labels, but I thought some of the men have aged badly.”
But Fiona doesn’t think there will be a sequel. “Everything was tied up in the film. All the questions were answered so I don’t think there will be a another film.”
Fiona continued: “We’ve had a great night. It was a fantastic prize. Everyone has been so generous and so nice and I would just like to say thank you to them.”
