A harvest gathering will take place in the Parish Centre after the 6.30pm mass this Saturday evening.

Parishoners ar invited to bring fruits of the harvest to this Parish Centre before this weekend’s Saturday evening mass.

At that mass in the Parish Church thanks will be offered for this year’s harvest, which the good weather helped to make a success for local farmers who work day and night.

As the Parish Church will relect the Harvest thanksgiving, people are invited to bring to the parish centre fruits of the harvest such as vegetables, fruits, dairy produce, turf etc.

During this Mass Harvest holy water will be blessed and blessed salt which in turn people can bring to their homes and gardens as a sign of God’s presence and protection.

After the 6.30pm Mass blessing of barn bracks and pies will take place followed by a harvest gathering in the parish centres.

This year’s warm summer was particularly beneficial for a good harvest, with many farmers starting to cut in early August.
