Ballacolla footpath ‘money issue’

“YOU must be fairly sure you’re not getting the money,” quipped Cllr Michael Lalor when he heard Senior Executive Engineer Michael Malone say, “If I got the money on Monday, the job would be done by Friday. It is a money issue.”

They were speaking at the Borris-in-Ossory electoral area meeting in Clough Community Hall where Cathaoirleach Marty Phelan had tabled a motion asking that the foothpath outside Hayes shop in Ballacolla be repaired.

“This is very important. It is a shocking busy place and the shop is open long hours,” commented Cllr Phelan.

Mr Malone said he has submitted a proposal on the matter but had yet to receive response. “There are significant public liability issues and I will look for the money again.”
