Charity Road Run in Vicarstown

All roads lead to Fisherstown, Ballybrittas oN Sunday next, March 3 for the 3rd running of the annual charity road run in aid of the Laois riding for the disabled.

This run starts and finishes at the Fishermans Inn and all cars, motorbikes, tractors and lorries are more than welcome to take part. Sign on will take place from 11.30am - 12.30pm, the cars will leave the Fishermans at 1pm sharp followed by the tractors and motorbikes.

The cars will head for Vicarstown, Stradbally, over the Windy Gap on to Arles, turn left in Ballickmoyler and on to the Three Counties Pub in Mageney, turn left there in Athy, Kilberry, Kildangan, Monasterevin and back to the Fishermans.

The tractor run will take back to the Fisherman’s.

The tractor run will be a 10-12 miles spin and the motorbike course has not been finalised as yet.

Refreshments will be served to all on their return and a new addition this year will be an auction immediately after the run and among the items to be auctioned will be boxing gear autographed by Olympic gold medal winner, Katie Taylor, silver medal winner, John JOe Nevin and from the equestrian world autographed by Olympic bronze medal winner Cian O’Connor.

There will also be a raffle for all participants with prizes being kindly donated by various businesses from the surrounding towns to whom the organisers extend many thanks.

Laois Riding for the diasbled caters for all age groups with minor to severe didabilites. So if you want an enjoyable evening and have a car, tractor, motorbike or lorry come to the Fishermans Inn, Fishermans on Sunday, March 3. Registration costs €20.
