Laois’ tourist office is now open from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, run by Laois County Council and manned by two part-time FÁS workers.

Last May the council began leasing the building from Bord Fáilte, after they announced its closure.

Tourism officer Dom Reddin thanked FÁS for their support, and said they hope to soon have the office open on Saturday mornings.

“All the brochures are stocked there, and the two employees have taken up Fáilte Ireland’s offer of training,” he said.

The office in Lyster Square is also home to Laois Chamber and the Downtown Traders group.
