Health Minister urged to reverse
cutbacks

Reverse the cutbacks for home helps and those with special needs. Cllr Paddy Bracken issued that call to the Health Minister at Mountmellick Town Council monthly meeting last Thursday evening.

Cllr Marc Connolly said the cutbacks were happening at a time when the Minister refused to renegotiate with HSE staff on salaries of more than €200,000 a year.

Cllr Rosemary Whelan commented, “We acknowledge the deficit in the HSE, but we are opposed to cutbacks that impact on the most vulnerable.
