Hospital reports delay

a REPORT on the future of Abbey Leix and Shaen Hospitals has yet to be given to the Minister for Healht.

Sean Fleming TD said he asked in the Dáil if Minister James Reilly had received the report

In reply Minister for State Kathleen Lynch said that that the HSE Designated Officer has yet to give his recommendation to The National Director of Integrated Care and the HSE CEO. A final decision on the hospitals rests with the Minsiter for Health.

Deputy Fleming called on Minister Reilly to ensure that no decision is made or approved to close either Abbeyleix or Shaen.

The Fianna Fail said called on the Minister to finalise the matter and confirm that the hospitals will continue to remain open and end the uncertainty for residents and their families, staff and the local communities.
