Mountrath houses sell at bargain prices
Seven houses in the Rush Hall estate in Mountrath were among those featured in Allsop Space’s latest Irish auction of distressed properties, held last Wednesday, October 3 in the Shelbourne Hotel.
Lot number 9 was the bargain buy, featuring four three bed semi detached houses, with an adjoining 3 acres of land, totalling 4.29 acres. It was snapped up for €128,000. The reserve was set at €40,000. Numbers 76, 79, 82 and 85 Rush Hall are all two storey end-of-terrace houses, with master en-suites and utility rooms.
Lot number 80, a three bedromm semi detached house had a reserve price of €30,000 and sold for €57,000.
Adjoining four bedroom houses numbers 70 and 71, were described as being ‘in shell condition’ with no kitchens or bathrooms installed, but with front and rear gardens and off road parking. They sold for €52,000 and €51,000 each, both have reserves set at no less than €30,000.
On the auction website, Mountrath was described as being 100km south of Dublin, via the M7. The estate is on the Shannon Road, 1 km from the town centre, where local amenities are listed as schools, sports clubs, bars and restaurants.
The auction was the biggest so far for Allsop Space, which saw a total of €17.8 million worth of Irish properties go under the hammer.
