AN information day about living with and managing Parkinson’s Disease will be held in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday, September 8.

The event, which is open to people from counties Laois, Offaly, Kildare, Kilkenny and Carlow, will include a series of talks by a nurse specialist, a speech therapist, a pharmacist, an occupational therapist, a yoga teacher and a woman who has had Parkinson’s for sixteen years. “Experience has shown that this kind of information day can make a difference in the lives of people with Parkinson’s,” explained Marian Deeley, Chairperson of East Midlands Parkinson’s.

She added, “The talks will be short but very much to the point: our aim is to provide useful and practical advice to patients and their carers.”

Registration for the information day costs €10 which includes lunch. People wishing to register can call Martina at 087 6550176 or Marian at 085 2112973.
