Rathdowney appeal
Abbeyleix Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an accident in Rathdowney, last week in which a pedestrian was knocked down.
At around 5.30pm, last Wednesday evening (January 25), a pedestrian was knocked down by a red fiat punto in The Square, Rathdowney.
The pedestrian is currently recovering in hospital in Mullingar from fractures and internal injuries, but they are expected to make a full recovery.
“The driver of the car stopped when the accident happened, but we would be appealing for anyone who might have seen the accident to contact us,” Sergeant Joe Culliton said.
